How do you get inspired?
There’s still time to submit your designs for Making Memories Idol – the deadline is still two days away! If you need a little spark to get your creative juices flowing, perhaps you can find some inspiration from our current design team. They recently shared with us some of the tricks they use to start the ideas rolling …
1) Look Around: “I’m always taking note of things that inspire me in my scrapbooking,” says Maggie Holmes. “I look at signs, ads, fashion, you name it. I have a folder where I keep different ideas and pieces of inspiration. Then I just start to play.”

2) Let Your Mood Decide: Lynne Montgomery doesn’t limit herself to starting at any one place. Depending on her mood, she’ll start with a photo she loves; a message she wants to share; a new product she wants to try; or a sketch she’s been dabbling with for some time. Once she knows the focus of her project, the rest of the ideas fall into place.

3) Start with the Photo: Erin Terrell is a systematic designer whose projects begin with the photo. “I find photos that inspire me, edit them, and print them,” she explains. From there, she selects a background cardstock which guides her color choices for the rest of the project, arranges photos, prints journaling, adheres embellishments, and finally, adds a title.Whatever fires you up, let it work for you now! The countdown is on, and we want you to be a part of this exciting challenge!

my creative process sounds just like erin's. only difference lately is that i usually start with some pattern paper that i want to use ... then find some pics, then cardstock, then all the fun embellishments. i do tend to leave my title and journaling for last.

I have to say that I am inspired by nature. In fact, I like to think of myself as a channel. I make the pages but I am channeling everything around me as I make them. I hope that doesn't sound too corny! LOL

I have to say my process is more like Lynne's than the other two's. I'm really looking forward to see what comes out of this contest. I never realized how many MM products I used until I went through some of my old LOs to look for a LO to enter and through my supplies to create my other one. I even have some of the older products like Twistel...
